THE THREE LEGGED BLUR

The Three-Legged Blur

Resilience on three paws.

Forward Motion

Zippy doesn’t know he’s missing a limb. He only knows that the squirrels are still fast and the morning sun still hits the porch just right. Watching him navigate the world is a masterclass in resilience. No complaints. No looking back. Just movement.

Balance in the Shift

Life throws a curveball, and you lose a piece of the familiar. You’d think losing a leg would slow a dog down. Instead, it just changed his gait. He leans into the turns a bit more now. He relies on a different kind of strength. There’s a lesson there when the world feels off-kilter: Adjust the stance. Find the new center. Keep moving.

The Kitchen Floor Standard

Christy and I watch him navigate the tight corners of the kitchen while something savory simmers on the stove. He doesn’t ask for pity, just the occasional scrap of fallen steak. He’s reminded us that “whole” isn’t about the number of parts you have. It’s about the spirit driving the machine.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'”

— 2 Corinthians 12:9
