A Mid-Morning Win in Johnson City
Sometimes the best part of a hospital run is the part where you leave.
After wrapping up an iron infusion at the VA this morning, Christy and I went looking for a recovery meal. We found a spot in Johnson City called Cranberries, and it hit the mark. No corporate polish here. Just a quiet, comfortable atmosphere and service that actually felt like they wanted you there.
Check them out: You can find their full menu and story over at CranberriesJC.com. It’s refreshing to see a local place keep it simple and focus on the quality and service.
The Spread
- Ham and Cheddar Quiche: It was exactly what it should be—rich, savory, and not overcomplicated.
- Tomato Bisque: Thick, hot, and seasoned right. It beats the standard side options any day.
- Chicken Salad Croissant: Christy paired hers with a Pea Salad. Based on how quickly it disappeared, it’s safe to say she was a fan.
The Verdict
If you’re wandering through Johnson City and need a break from the noise, find this place. It’s a solid, “hole-in-the-wall” style gem that focuses on the flavors instead of the flair. Zippy had to sit this one out, but the leftovers might make it home to him if he’s lucky.
