Dwell on the Truth

Dwell on the Truth

It’s time to cut through the noise and talk about something that actually works: Positive Thinking.

I know, you’ve heard it a thousand times. “Just think happy thoughts.” But let’s be real—when life is coming at you fast, your mind doesn’t naturally drift toward the light. It gets stuck in a loop of worry and fear. It feels like a trap.

Let the Truth Set Up Shop

The reality is that where your thoughts go, your life is going to follow. If you’re feeding on stress, you’re going to live a stressed life. But we have a choice. We don’t have to let the chaos run the show.

Colossians 3:16 tells us to let the message of Christ dwell in us richly. That word “dwell” matters. It’s not about a weekend visit or a quick check-in when things go south. It’s about making your mind a permanent home for God’s truth.

Stress loves to set up camp and magnify our problems. When we let the Word actually live in our heads, it kicks out the stress and replaces it with a perspective that doesn’t shake.

Focus on What Lasts

James 3:17 breaks down the kind of wisdom we should be aiming for: pure, peace-loving, and full of mercy.

Positive thinking isn’t just wishful thinking or pretending things are fine when they aren’t. It’s about letting heavenly wisdom shape how we see the world. When we focus on what is true and lovely, our minds start to reflect that peace, even when the world around us is in an uproar.

A Foundation That Doesn’t Move

There’s a steady foundation found in Psalm 119:165. It says those who love the law have great peace, and nothing makes them stumble.

Stress tries to knock us off balance. It’s the ultimate distraction. But when we root ourselves in His promises, we get grounded. The more we focus on what He’s said, the less power stress has over our hearts.

Your thoughts have power. When you fill your mind with truth and wisdom, it changes how you live. Negativity doesn’t have to be the boss of you. Use the Word to choose the thoughts that actually give life.

“Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.” Psalm 119:165
