St. Augustine Day Trip
Wandering the coast.
The world is loud, but the coast has a way of leveling things out. Christy and I loaded up for a day trip to St. Augustine. No complex spreadsheets or tourist traps. Just the road and the salt air.
The Afternoon Grind
We spent a leisurely afternoon at Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. It’s a solid hole-in-the-wall spot that doesn’t feel like a corporate assembly line. I went with the 100% Kona coffee—bold, clean, and tastes like it actually came from the earth. I also grabbed a sugar-free vanilla iced latte to keep things cool. Coffee is best enjoyed when you aren’t rushing to the next “attraction.”
Pier Views and Vilano Sand
We spent some time out on the pier. There is something about standing over the water that puts a man’s head in the right place. Afterward, we made our way over to Vilano Beach. It’s a bit quieter, less theater, more horizon.
Seeing Christy happy and enjoying the sun is the only metric that matters for a successful trip. It was a wonderful day of wandering. No fluff, just good company and the Atlantic.
