The True North: Why Faith is My Compass
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9
Welcome to the heart of Kitchen and Compass.
When I decided to start this blog to share my love for local food and the open road, I knew I couldn’t leave out the most important part of my journey. As a Follower of Christ, my faith isn’t just a Sunday activity—it’s the “True North” that guides how I treat people, how I appreciate the beauty of the world on our travels, and how I give thanks for the simple blessings around the dinner table.
I believe that every good thing we enjoy—from a stunning Florida sunset to a quiet morning with a hot cup of coffee—is a gift from God. This section of the blog is a place for me to:
- Reflect: On what the Lord is teaching me through His Word.
- Share: How my faith intersects with daily life as a husband, a veteran, and a neighbor here in Bristol.
- Encourage: Anyone else who is trying to navigate life’s trails with a bit of hope and grace.
Whether you share my beliefs or you’re just here for the restaurant reviews, I’m glad you’re at my table. My goal is simple: to be a light and to share the joy that comes from a life led by faith.
