Trading the Interstate for the Scenic Route: A Day in Knoxville

Back Roads and Butterscotch

A Knoxville Day Trip

Christy, Zippy, and I loaded up for a day trip to Knoxville. After wrestling with the 18-wheelers on the interstate for a while, we’d had enough. We bailed for the back roads. Best decision of the day—much more relaxing drive.

The Pizza Barn

We hit up Cruze Farm Pizza Barn. The pepperoni pizza was greasy, but still good. We tried the Two Doors Down personal pizza, but it was a bit unbalanced—the caramelized onions completely drowned out the mushrooms.

The real winner? The cheese bread. It was excellent. And a word of advice: make the trip just for their house-made ranch dressing. We’re definitely heading back for more of that.

The Sweet Stuff

The ice cream at Cruze Farm is always the highlight. I went with the Banana Pudding soft serve, while Christy had the Sweet Cream dipped in butterscotch. Both were incredible. Even Zippy got his fix with a pup cup.
