When the Blueprint Doesn’t Make Sense

When the Blueprint Doesn’t Make Sense

Life rarely hands you clean blueprints. Most days, things break, plans unravel, and the engine starts knocking when you’re miles from nowhere.

It is easy to believe in purpose when the sun is out, Christy is smiling, and Zippy is snoozing peacefully on the floor by my chair. It is an entirely different fight when life kicks the teeth out of your schedule and leaves you staring at a mess you didn’t ask for.

The Promise Isn’t That Life Is Soft

A lot of folks butcher Romans 8:28. They treat it like cheap Hallmark paint slapped over dry rot.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28

Notice what the text does not say. It doesn’t say everything that happens is good. Pain is real. Loss cuts deep. Evil exists, and pretending otherwise is just lying to yourself.

The promise isn’t that the fire won’t burn. The promise is that the Fire isn’t wasted.

Work in Progress

Think of cast iron. You don’t get a seasoned, bulletproof skillet without heat and heavy grease. If that iron had feelings, it’d tell you the fire was destroying it. But the maker is using the heat to temper the metal so it can actually handle the work ahead.

God doesn’t waste raw materials. He takes the wreckage, the delays, the stubborn mistakes, and the quiet heartaches, and He weaves them into something solid. Not necessarily comfortable. But good.

Stand Your Ground

If you’re in the thick of it right now, don’t waste your energy looking for quick exits or cheap comfort. Anchor your boots. Pour a fresh cup of coffee, sit with the Word, and let God do the heavy lifting.

He didn’t bring you this far to abandon the build. Trust the hands holding the hammer.
