The Thief and the Full Cup
Most people sleepwalk through their days. They survive them. They drag themselves from one obligation to the next, run ragged by noise and demands, mistaking sheer momentum for actual living.
That is not life. That is slow attrition.
The Reality of the Crosshairs
There is an enemy who loves that grind. He does not always show up with horns and a pitchfork; usually, he just bleeds your peace dry an ounce at a time. A little distraction here. A little cynicism there. Before long, your joy is hollowed out and you are just marking time on a calendar.
Scripture puts it bluntly:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” — John 10:10
Call it what it is. If something is robbing your peace, poisoning your marriage, or draining the gratitude right out of your gut, look at the source. The thief takes. That is his only job description.
Abundance Is Not Hype
The world sells abundance like a cheap infomercial. Bigger houses. Packed schedules. Louder titles.
Christ had something entirely different in mind. Abundance is not clutter. It is depth.
It is sitting on the porch mid-morning with a strong cup of coffee while the world spins its wheels. It is watching Zippy chase shadows in the yard and having the presence of mind to actually laugh at it. It is looking across the kitchen table at Christy, knowing the foundation is solid no matter how sideways the world goes outside your front door.
That is abundance. It is marrow-deep peace. It is life unfiltered, rooted in truth, and savored on purpose.
Draw the Line
Stop letting the thief run a tab on your peace.
Take stock of what is stealing your focus today. Turn off the noise. Protect the quiet. Love your people fiercely, stand your ground, and refuse to settle for surviving when you were built to live.
