The Lie We Settle For

The Lie We Settle For

Most folks treat freedom like a finish line. They think it’s about doing whatever they want, whenever they want, without answering to anyone.

That’s not freedom. That’s just wandering without a map.

Real freedom cuts deeper. It usually starts by tearing down the comforting lies we tell ourselves just to survive the day.

The Mirror Doesn’t Negotiate

Mid-morning hits. The house is finally quiet. Christy is settled, Zippy is snoring softly on the rug by my boots, and I’ve got a hot black coffee within reach. Just me and time in the Word.

Peace like that takes effort to protect. The world outside wants to hand you a thousand cheap counterfeits of truth—hustle harder, pretend you have it all together, blame everyone else for your wreckage.

Facing the truth about yourself hurts. It stings before it heals. But a hard truth delivered in love beats a sweet lie every single time.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32

Unshackled

Notice Jesus didn’t say ignorance is bliss. He said the truth sets you free.

Not your opinion. Not your curated image. The raw, unvarnished truth of who God is and who you are in front of Him.

When you stop running from it, the chains drop on their own. You stop performing. You stop carrying dead weight you were never built to haul.

Step into the light. Own your mess, take hold of grace, and walk out of the cell. The door has been unlocked the entire time.
