Where Real Help Comes From

Where Real Help Comes From

The world moves fast, loud, and entirely too early. Most folks scramble through sunrise trying to fix problems before their feet even hit the floor.

I’m not one of them.

Give me a slow mid-morning, a quiet chair, and a solid mug of coffee. Let the house settle. Let Zippy curl up by my boots, snoring softly while Christy moves around the kitchen, bringing that grounded warmth only she carries into a room. You don’t need a spreadsheet or a manic routine to face the day. You just need to know where your anchor sits.

The False Summit

We’re conditioned to look horizontally for answers. We lean on grit, bank accounts, or whatever quick fix is being peddled this week. We stare down the mountain of tasks, bills, and noise, thinking our own two hands will carry the load.

They won’t. Eventually, your grip slips. Self-reliance has a very short shelf life.

The True Anchor

“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” — Psalm 121:2

Take thirty seconds and chew on that.

The help isn’t coming from your own hustle. It’s not coming from luck. It comes from the One who spoke the mountains, the oceans, and the stars into existence. If He can hang galaxies in empty space without breaking a sweat, He can handle whatever mess you’re staring down on a Tuesday afternoon.

Stop looking in the mirror for the rescue crew.

Drink your coffee. Love your people well. Look up, hand the heavy lifting over to the Maker, and get to work.
