The First Command
The world started in pitch-black chaos. No shape. No order. Just deep, empty water waiting on a word.
God didn’t draft a committee or test the waters. He spoke four words:
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” — Genesis 1:3
It wasn’t a suggestion. It was a command. The darkness didn’t get a vote, and it didn’t push back.
Cutting Through the Fog
Mid-morning hits, coffee finally in hand, Christy in the room, and Zippy snoring softly on the rug. That kind of quiet is hard-won.
The rest of life wants to drown you in noise and gray areas. Confusion, half-truths, and the endless clutter of the daily grind. We spend half our energy trying to navigate in the dark, pretending we know where the edges are.
You can’t navigate what you can’t see.
When God brought light into creation, He didn’t just illuminate things for show. He established truth. He drew a hard line between what was and what wasn’t. Light exposes reality. It reveals the exact shape of the terrain—rough edges, broken floorboards, and all.
Walking in the Clear
You don’t need a complicated roadmap to know your next step. You just need enough light to see where your boot lands.
When things feel muddy or out of hand, remember how the whole story kicked off. Order didn’t come from man’s hustle. It came because God commanded the dark to break, and it did.
Stop overthinking the shadows. Stand in the light, look at the truth plain, and get to work.
